Vosges / France
August 2021 saw the start of an epic journey with my friends and my new Lada Niva to the Vosges. It was our first trip together, full of adventure and marking my debut with the Lada Niva, and the camping with a roof rack and a roof tent. With two Nivas and two Defenders, we explored winding roads and lush landscapes.
Our first stop for the night was by a peaceful pond near Thionville, close to Metz. It was a lovely, tranquil spot—a perfect start to our adventure.
We started settle up and cooking in a cozy atmosphere…
The next day, we said farewell to our serene spot and headed towards the Vosges.
Around 4 p.m., we made a stop in a little village, Blamont, before heading up into the Vosges, refueling and stocking up on groceries.
That night marked our first in the Vosges, and we had a fantastic evening filled with cheerful and good vibes.
Our second night deep in the heart of the Vosges, perched atop a peak just before sunset.
A small fire in preparation for a delightful evening ahead!
As the night fell, we were treated to yet another breathtaking sunset. We spent the evening stargazing, (chilling) and unwinding by the fire….
We made a stop at the Montsec American Monument, overlooking Lake Madine. This monument commemorates the achievements of the American soldiers who fought in this region in 1917 and 1918.
We also took the time to admire the scenic beauty of the surrounding area.
As the trip ended, I promised myself it was just the start of many more adventures to come ! 🌄⛺
